Before a Campus Fitout

Align factory production with holidays, inspections, and who is allowed to change a drawing after freeze.

Campuses do not pause politely for interiors. Work around term, board exams, and hostel intake. Freeze a typical room, name one decision owner, and do not reopen colours after production has started.

The holiday is the installation window

Map exams, admissions, and hostel opening. Night work in a live hostel is a last resort. Prefetch long-lead hardware so the holiday is for install, not waiting for hinges.

Phased blocks beat a promise to finish the whole campus in one gap that always shrinks.

  • A freeze date everyone can see
  • Mock-up signed before bulk production
  • Access, hostels, and occupied neighbours listed
  • Inspection dates in the same programme

One voice on site

Committees are fine in the studio and costly on the floor. A single campus owner plus our site lead should decide snags. Parent committees should not redesign a shutter on install day.

Handover includes spares, finish boards, and a walk with facilities, not only a ribbon.

  • Written extra-work process
  • Snag lists per block
  • Training for adjustment and cleaning
  • As-built typical rooms photographed

A full term before you need occupied rooms is safer than a vacation-only plan. Factory time is real.

Only if production has not started. That is why the mock-up exists.

Room lists, a calendar, existing furniture to reuse, and photos of problem areas from last year.
